Information Systems Management Institute (ISMA) was founded in 1994. It is one of the university-successor of RAU (Riga Aviation University). The Institute obtained a full state accreditation of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Latvia. ISMA is one of most international higher education establishments of the country. More than one third of undergraduate students are international.


Study at ISMA

Information Systems Management Institute is the holding. Educational cycle at ISMA covers pre-school, secondary school, Bachelor, Master and doctoral studies. ISMA offers students to study at all levels: first level professional higher education, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral study programmes in four directions:

  • Information technology.
  • Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business.
  • Management and Administration, Real Estate Management.
  • Economics, finance and banking.

Since 2009 ISMA has been holding annual festival “ISMA Invites Talents” supported by the Riga Dome. This event consists of diverse activities. They include scientific conferences, school Olympiad, creative and mathematics competitions. Winners of the contest will receive tuition-fee waivers to study programmes that are available to choose from in ISMA.

Considerable attention is paid to the physical activities and physical exercises to upgrade students' skills in sports. ISMA has a sport club which offers 10 popular sports. ISMA Sports Club is open for all professional and amateur sportsmen. Students have the opportunity to join one of ISMA sports teams and take part in annual Latvian Universiades.

International cooperation

In 2001 ISMA International Relations department obtains Erasmus University Charter for the first time. This opens even more possibilities for international cooperation. Nowadays, ISMA is actively participate in Erasmus + programme and after the first year of studies ISMA students can participate in the student mobility programmes and continue studies in prestigious foreign universities.
