Transport and Telecommunications Institute (TSI) ─ is a private higher education establishment. It was founded in 1999, as one of the university-successor of teaching traditions and educational programmes of Riga Aviation University. The institute has state accreditation of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Latvia. Each year hundreds of TSI graduates earn degrees that are nationally and internationally recognized. Alumni and graduates of the Transport and Telecommunications Institute are in a great demand all over the world.
Study at TSI
The Institute offers 18 academic programmes at all degree levels - Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral. TSI has more than 3,500 from 32 countries currently enrolled. All programmes are taught into line with the internationally accepted standards. The study programmes are delivered in its entirety in Latvian and English languages.
The TSI is offering education in the following fields:
- economics and management;
- computer science;
- electronics and telecommunication;
- transport and logistics;
- aviation transport.
To increase level of knowledge and to facilitate adjustment to a new environment and a new way of life the TSI offers to international students one-semester preparatory courses.
Research excellence and innovation are integral part of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute activity. The TSI regularly organizes scientific workshops and conferences. It is an internationally recognized center of higher education and research. By the assessment of independent experts, the TSI is the only Latvian private technical higher education establishments which is included in the list of the leading Latvian scientific research institutes.
Since 2014 the TSI has been an active participant of Erasmus exchange programme. It is short for the European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students. Erasmus is an initiative run by the European Union (EU). About 40 reputable foreign universities are partners of the TSI in this exchange programmes. So that students of the TSI have an opportunity to study or gain work experience in a different European country while completing a degree.
